Multi-season

Soil amendment program

A season-by-season plan built off a soil test, correcting what the test actually shows rather than applying the same bag to every lawn.

Soil Amendment Program being carried out on a tall fescue lawn in the Raleigh Triangle.

The problem it solves

You have tried products, the lawn improves for a few weeks, and then it goes back to how it was. Nothing has changed underneath.

What actually happens

A soil test is taken first, and the program is built off what the test actually shows — pH, organic matter, and the nutrients that are genuinely limiting on that property. Amendments are applied across the season to correct those specific findings, and the lawn is re-tested to confirm the direction of travel.

Why it matters here

Two lawns three streets apart can need opposite things. Applying the same bag to both is how the industry works, and it is why results are inconsistent. Testing first costs a little time up front and removes the guesswork from everything that follows.

When it should happen

A program can start in any season, because the first step is a test rather than an application. Most people start in late summer so the plan is in place before the fall window.

What’s included

  • Soil test taken and interpreted before any amendment is recommended
  • A written plan naming what is being corrected and why, in plain language
  • Applications staged across the season rather than dumped in one visit
  • Re-test to confirm the soil is actually moving, not just the grass looking better temporarily

What this will not do

Worth reading before you book. It is cheaper for both of us to find out here than on the day.

  • This is not a weed control program and does not include herbicide applications
  • It does not include mowing, edging or general maintenance
  • Soil chemistry corrections — particularly pH — move slowly. Some findings take more than one season to shift and we will say so at the outset

Priced on treatable square footage, measured from satellite imagery and confirmed on site. Beds, drives and gravel come out of the number. How pricing works.
